TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Russia responded to a request by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to meet with President Putin.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said it would depend on negotiations between the two countries.

He also accused Zelensky of changing his mind frequently.

Lavrov who visited Ankara, Turkey, on Wednesday (8/6/2022) discussed the possibility of meeting Zelensky and Putin.

He emphasized that the opportunity for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky would arise only after the negotiation process between Moscow and Kyiv resumed.

The Russian foreign minister criticized the Ukrainian President's approach to negotiations as unserious.

According to Lavrov, Zelensky wants to meet for a negotiation.

But he changes his mind frequently.

Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu sees an opportunity to resume negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv.

He said Turkey is ready to organize a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.

On Tuesday Zelensky said he was still ready to meet Putin face-to-face.

He insisted that peace negotiations should be face-to-face with President Vladimir Putin, because "there is no one else to talk to" but the Russian leader.
