Colonel Putin 'Zaur Dimayev' Killed in Donbas, Close Ally of Chechen Warlord Ramzan Kadyrov

TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Despite the Kremlin's recent advances, another Russian colonel has reportedly died in Ukraine.

Lieutenant Colonel Zaur Dimayev killed in Donbas region of Ukraine

Dimayev is known as an ally of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

He is deputy commander of the 4th battalion of the Akhmat Kadyrov special forces regiment.

Dimayev was reported killed in Donbass on Tuesday (31/5/2022).

Newsweek reported on Thursday (2/6/2022), Dimayev was riding a military SUV when the vehicle was hit by a shell that killed himself and the driver.

In addition, two Chechen police officers were also said to have been killed.

It brings the total number of Russian colonels killed fighting to at least 49, though no official tally has been published by either Kyiv or Moscow.

Dimayev's death is the latest among Russia's high-ranking commanders.

It comes a day after Russian President Vladimir Putin fired six of his senior military leaders.

According to a report from Moscow-based RBK Group, Putin issued a decree on Monday announcing the dismissal of five generals in Russia's Interior Ministry and one police colonel.

As Russia's invasion of Ukraine reaches its 100th day this Friday, Putin has stepped up military efforts in the battle not as fast as he had hoped.(tribun-video.com)
