President Zelensky Angry Over Russian Attack on Nitric Acid Plant, Calls Putin's Troops 'Crazy'

TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was furious when Russian troops attacked the nitric acid tank of a factory in Severodonetsk on Wednesday (1/6/2022).

He accused Moscow of being insane because of the attack.

Especially with the risk of endangering local residents from the factory explosion.

Russia continues to attack eastern Ukraine.

An air strike hit a chemical plant in Severodonetsk on Wednesday morning.

The attack destroys a tank containing nitric acid.

In a video of his speech on Wednesday, Zelensky angrily denounced the attack.

He said the plant produces large-scale chemicals in Severodonetsk.

The Ukrainian president described the attack on the plant as insanity by Russian troops.

They did not consider the risks posed by the attack.

"Given the large-scale chemical production in Severodonetsk, Russian army attacks there, including blind aerial bombardment, are insane," Zelensky said in a video message.

"But on the 97th day of such a war, it is no longer surprising that for the Russian military, for Russian commanders, for Russian soldiers, any kind of madness is perfectly acceptable." he added.

Luhansk’s regional governor, Serhiy Haidai, on Telegram appealed to the people of Severodonetsk to remain in refugee camps.

He warned, nitric acid is dangerous if inhaled, swallowed and in contact with the skin.

"Nitric acid is harmful by inhalation, ingestion and in contact with skin. Do not leave the shelter!" said Serhiy Haidai.

He asked the remaining townspeople to "prepare a protective face mask impregnated with a soda solution."

Pro-Moscow separatist authorities said the tank had "exploded" in an area controlled by Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian officials said Tuesday that Moscow troops now control half of Severodonetsk(tribun-video.com)
